Dr Cynthia Chen was a graduate from the University of Melbourne. She has practised for over 20 years in Australia and Hong Kong as a Physician and Neurologist, both in public and private sectors.

She is a highly qualified general neurologist with special interests and experience in headaches, epilepsy, Parkinsonism, dementia and stroke. She can perform Botulinum toxin injections for chronic migraine.

She enjoys spending quality time with her family when she is not working. She loves good food and travelling. She can offer consultations in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Trudy Cheng

about Dr Cheng

Dr Cheng is a neurologist with subspecialty interest and training in Headache Medicine and Movement disorders.

Dr Cheng graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007 and completed her neurology training at Barwon University Hospital, Western Health and Alfred Health. She trained with the Headache Service, Movement Disorder Unit and the Acute and Chronic Pain Unit at Alfred Health.

Dr Cheng is able to manage complex headache and migraine conditions. She believes in improving service delivery and advocacy for headache patients. She is actively involved in the Australia New Zealand Headache Society as a general committee member. She is also a visiting neurologist and part of the multidisciplinary team at Alfred Health Caulfield Headache Clinic. Her current research is in the real world experience of CGRP monoclonal antibodies in chronic migraine.

She can administer injectable treatments for chronic migraine (Botox for chronic migraine, Botox for trigeminal neuralgia, greater occipital nerve blocks, peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections), and injection treatment for cervical dystonia and facial dyskinesias.

Dr Kar Yan Lo

Dr Kar Yan Lo graduated from University of Melbourne and completed a Fellowship at The Alfred Hospital in Neurophysiology and Movement Disorders.

She is a highly qualified neurologist. She sees patients with a broad range of neurological disorders and she may offer consultations in Cantonese.

Dr Nirosen Vijiaratnam

about Dr Vijiaratnam

Dr Vijiaratnam is a neurologist with subspecialty interest and training in Movement disorders.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and completed his neurology training at the Western, Monash and Alfred Health services. He undertook his movement disorders sub speciality training at the Movement Disorder Unit at the Alfred Hospital before being awarded the highly coveted ANZAN overseas fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in London. He was subsequently awarded the Janet Owen’s Fellowship position at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square in London where he trained in a range of movement disorders. During this time he also completed a PhD in biomarkers and novel treatments for Parkinson’s disease at the world renowned University College London Institute of Neurology. Dr Vijiaratnam has also received training in deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, MRI guided focused ultrasound treatment and has trained in performing botulinum toxin injections.

Dr Vijiaratnam currently heads the movement disorders service at Monash Health and is able to offer highly specialised advanced therapies and novel approaches for treatment of movement disorders. He is an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University and also serves on scientific committees in the international Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders society and is actively involved in clinical trials and research studies.

Dr Dinushi Weerasinghe

about Dr Weerasinghe

Dr Dinushi Weerasinghe is a neurologist with sub-specialty training and interest in nerve conduction studies/electromyography and neuromuscular disorders.

She started her career in neurology as an advanced trainee at the Canberra hospital. She undertook further specialist training at the Liverpool hospital and Westmead hospital, New South Wales. She completed her fellowship in Neurophysiology (nerve conduction studies and EMG) at Westmead Hospital, Sydney before being admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians.

She moved to the USA for further training in Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular disorders at the University of Rochester, New York, Neuromuscular unit. She was the departmental fellow in Neuromuscular medicine and Peripheral nerve disorders.

She has many publications in international peer-reviewed journals. She has also completed the British fellowship exams and has been admitted to the membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. She has medical licence to practise neurology in the USA and Australia. She is a current member of the Australia New Zealand Association of Neurologists, American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr Dinushi Weerasinghe is the neurophysiology (NCS and EMG) and neuromuscular lead at Eastern Health, Melbourne.
